Before joining Invariant, Marcus served as the global business editor for Defense One, where he led the publication’s coverage of the defense industry. Having built an impressive network of sources throughout his career in journalism, Marcus maintains relationships with senior defense and policy leaders in Washington and nationally.

Before joining Defense One, he was a senior Pentagon correspondent at Defense News, an editor at Inside Defense, and vice president of the Pentagon Press Association. In 2018, Marcus won a Neal Award for his coverage of the Pentagon and defense industry.
