Mary Beth Stanton guides Fortune 500 companies and their trade associations on how to be successful in Washington.  She manages Invariant’s financial services and tax group and was integral to client advocacy and strategy surrounding efforts to reform the Dodd-Frank Act and rewrite the tax code in the 115th Congress. Mary Beth works with clients to define success and develop a strategy to win.  She often acts as an extension of a client’s government affairs team to amplify and echo key messages with policymakers and their staffs.

Mary Beth leverages more than a decade of experience delivering signature wins across financial sector reform, tax reform, and labor policies.  She led efforts to regulate the derivatives market, reform debit interchange transactions, improve the housing finance system, regulate the food and beverage industry, and strengthen the nation’s food supply. Mary Beth spent seven years on Capitol Hill as policy advisor for the Senate Special Committee on Aging and as legislative assistant for Chairman Herb Kohl (D-WI) in addition to serving as legislative assistant for former Representative Anthony Weiner (D-NY). Prior to joining the firm, Mary Beth managed a law firm’s health care and appropriations clients.

Mary Beth earned her Master’s degree from George Washington University and is a graduate of Marquette University. She serves on Marquette’s Les Aspin Center for Government Board of Visitors, and she is a board member of the George Washington University School of Political Management.
